Guest guest
Lin, I actually spend more time in the car than I would like for various reasons... on weekends, it is not unusual for us to do 200-300 miles without doing anything. My husband is an explorer. If you are thinking you really might enjoy Reno, etc. I would go for it.. just be prepared. Find a way to be comfortable in the car.. Make sure you stop often, and get out of the car. There are heating pads that you can plug into the car lighter.. as well as blankets for warmth. That may help some. We are lucky to have a comfortable car, with heated seats and that does help me. Hubby will stop 100 times an hour if I ask him to (he is, I swear, the most patient man on earth.) I'm sure I'll think of more of the things to be comfortable in the car, and I'll pass them along. Thanksgiving is such a family holiday, and I'm sure you would be very missed if you were to stay home.... Hugs, Jo

I made one trip to Arizona by plane and it went well. My husband took me to the airport where an attendant met me with a wheelchair. It was a very smooth ride! Then I had to transfer at another airport which was prearranged by the airlines and at my destination I was met once again with an attendant and a wheelchair to travel to the pickup area where my friend's car was parked. That trip was much easier than the California road trips. I stayed for a week in Arizona and had a good visit with my dear friend. I must admit that this trip was after I had improvement and the pain level was not in the " kill myself " zone during that time. I know I could not have made that trip during the previous years. So again, I'll repeat what someone else made note of….follow your inner guide, you know what you can handle. I'll just add to beware of allowing yourself to be unintentionally pushed above your level of tolerance for any activity. If you are anything like me the desire to make " things " comfortable for others sometimes puts you in jeopardy. Resist the urge! I noticed you do some needle work. I don't cross-stitch but I do knit and crochet and if I can get it together this winter I may do some sewing, too. Since we all seem to use a method of comparison for good days, bad days, it is all relative, right! I wish you a good day whatever that may be for you! Guest guest
Hi Pam, We looked on line for flights and they're not too bad, my only fear is booking a ticket and then having something happen to where I wouldn't be able to use it. I did get some sleep, pain is still high. Intestinal bug is still going strong. Dwight made me a bowl of chicken noodle soup last night, I couldn't even take the smell, I know I wanted to lose weight but this isn't quite how I planned to do it. . My little Katelin has it too . I am sorry that you didn't get any sleep last night. I did and today I can't keep my eyes opened, so I hope you get some sleep tonight. Guest guest
I'll just add to beware of allowing yourself to beunintentionally pushed above your level of tolerance for any activity. If you are anything like me the desire to make "things" comfortable forothers sometimes puts you in jeopardy. Resist the urge Lyn, I think that is what may be happening here. The final decision is going to be, like the day before we leave. There is just too many variables to make any desicion before hand. Dwight and his Mom are going regardless. I will have my sister, and daughters to help me out with anything I may need. So how are you doing? Lin
