Guest guest
Hi , I am sorry I don't have any advise about the older children but my daugher was in AFO's for a while when she got out of casts (she was 2 months old). She wouldn't keep her feet in them at all but they were easier to use than the DBB. When I e-mailed Dr Ponseti with my story he replied back that " AFOs are useless in maintaining a corrected clubfoot. " This is in his responce about a younger child so I don't know about him being older if it would change his openion. My Dr put her in them in attempt to get her heal down I think. It might be better to try them than the ATTT if you can't get him recasted. I can relate to the family saying they look so much better etc. My husband also thinks that I am being paranoid but I just don't think her feet are where they should be. Good luck to you. If you have any questions about the AFO's feel free to contact me.
