I have seen many people try many different iron supplements and yet those of us

that got the levels up quickly have all taken ferrous sulfate at 325 mg a pill

and dosed 2x a day or 3x a day. Most people wait a year to see any improvement.

You can go for shots, if you can afford it.

for the low ferritin? nothing yet. I've written a note to the doc about

some thing on my blood work...like the fact if she wrote off the low TIBC to

antibodies (her notation) than she has to also say that my Ferritin was

elevated

because of same. (and it was only 34).

But i've told her I have some concerns about taking iron in case I have any

liver issues - and does she think a Liver Profile is appropriate. And I have

also mentioned that I probably should have my B12 tested since my grandmother

had pernicious anemia and I had that low TIBC.

I should hear from her tomorrow I hope.

I'm also concerned about taking iron tablets with malabsorption issues...and

need to find out if there is liquid that might be more readily absorbed.

Okay Jamy and Janie...the past couple of weeks I feel a bone tiredness...this

is the low ferritin, right?

And here's the question....how long after supplementation do you start

getting rid of the fatigue.

By the way, my tongue had been feeling sore for about two days...and i was

researching this...and guess what turns up? Iron deficiency.

And also, I found out that that ache in my legs at night is probably what

they call Restless Legs Syndrome...and guess what - it too is related to iron

deficiency.

Why have the doctors tried to kill me? Don't they know anything?
