Guest guest
Hi Folks, Sorry to repost this question, but nobody has answered so far, and it looks as though I'll be going under the knife within days rather than weeks, so I'd really like to get some advice ASAP. A little background: I've been diagnosed with " multiple small uterine fibroids " (up to 2.1 cm), and a " large complex adnexal mass (11cm X 11cm X 11cm) requiring further evaluation " . My CAT scan is scheduled for TODAY (the benefits of socialized medicine!). I do strongly suspect that the " mass " is an ovarian cyst (as I have a history of such), which will need to be removed. My GP has suggested that I might want to have a full hysterectomy. I have no objections to doing so in regards to childbearing (do not want children), but would like to know further info on the health risks associated with a full hysterectomy at age 42. Since I've never had anything but trouble from my uterus/ovaries, I'm inclined to just yank 'em out, but I really think I ought to consider the risks/benefits logically first. Any info and/or advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks,
