And yet " they " are always screaming " iodine to suport the thyroid

that is very odd. I was just reading in " thyroid for dummies " about iodine

deficient hypothyroidism and goiters...and how prevalent that is in some parts

of the world. some really interesting reading in that book. I thought I had

read everything there was to read - but there was really some new info in that

book for me.

It depends on where you live. In the western world you get all the

iodine you need from your diet. The paper had this article about

China and how this desert is expanding and they showed this woman who

had this goiter that looked like the size of a grapefuit. In China

and other places they don't get enough iodine from their diet.

Here's something interesting, though. My 13 year old daughter is

hypothyroid, and she tested as iodine deficient. Taking iodine

changed her life. She said, Mommy, I didn't know what it felt like to

be so happy. I nearly cried. It also increased her energy level

dramatically. How nutty. There are so many facets to this disease.
