Mandy, order a sample of the Pure Whey Stack Chocolate and a sample

of the Proscore 100 chocolate from www.vitalady.com. When the samples

come, take half of one and half of the other and mix them. Try that.

Mine tastes like chocolate milk and doesn't have that proteiny aftertaste.

With the other halves, you can either do them separately with

3 oz of water each, or you can do something like add a taste of peanut

butter or some flavoring to each one.

First, you've had the icky ones. Try good ones.

Then, use a straw. It separates your nose form the smell.

Hi ,

I had surgery on 12/16/02 and I was told by my Dr not to use a straw.

Will this change the farther out that I get?

I've lost 35 lbs but I've been on a plateau for more than 3 weeks and

haven't lost a pound. Very depressing to say the least. I worry that I'm

going to be in the 1% of people that this tool doesn't work for.

I got the protein samples, but have no clue how to make them. There is a

sticker on the bag with the protein content, but no mixing/amount

instructions? I got the exact flavors you suggested. can't wait to try

them. maybe I will email Mom/Vitalady.

I think I'll try it then! I don't know why he said No Straws. BUT if it

will help me swallow the nasty protein drinks I'll try anything. I

bought a box of Real Meals (not cheap) and I can barely stand to swallow

it. Then I tried some from GNC that isn't any better. It's all I can do

to keep it down.

I placed an order at vitalady for a couple of samples and hopefully I'll

get those soon!

Bev who did your surgery . I don't believe a straw will hurt you the only

reason they say that is because sometimes they cause air in the pouch

but I could burp with no problem .;0)

I like those I listed earlier pro sore 100,pure whey stacks and pro blend

55 Cappuccino ( coffee flavor)

What did you try from Vitalady ?

Yes. You can ultimately use a straw. You'll know when you use it if " now " is

the time. Thos of us who do sorta expel the air, so we don't swallow it.

Dr in City, TN did my surger on 12/16/02. I have distal

rny.

I haven't found any problems with the burping either! :)

I don't even remember what I ordered. I havent' received them yet.

I'm thinking my plateau is caused from not enough water or protein. I'm

not doing the greatest with either one. :(

I think the reason some docs say no straws is because we can tend to get

air sucked up with straws. Then we have problems with pain if we can't

belch.

Beverly,

If you are a distal RNY there is no way you can get enuogh protein from food

without crashing. I'm 7 years out from a distal RNY and I thought I could,

til I crashed... am still recovering after a year. Believe me, it's no fun.

Enjoy the protein foods, but count on the SHAKES to give you the protein your

body needs.

This I speak from personal experience intended with love and to be helpful.

I got the protein samples, but have no clue how to make them. There is

a

sticker on the bag with the protein content, but no mixing/amount

instructions? I got the exact flavors you suggested. can't wait to try

them. maybe I will email Mom/Vitalady.

Thanks,

I'm taking 3 flintstone complete's and 4 caltrate chewables (until I get

my stuff from vitalady). I'm getting about 60 grams of protein a day.

I've ordered some powdered soy to add to my juice plus complete so that

I can drink that as my protein drink.

Is this right?

I'm eating 3 small meals a day and occassionally I'll have 1/2 of a

protein bar as a snack. The dr has me still on the soft foods /soups

/etc until after I see him on 2/4. Perhaps then I'll be able to get more

protein into my diet via food instead of drinks.

Please let me know if you folks think I need to change anything! I'm

pretty new at this :)

Re: Question about protein drinks

Bev with you being distal it is very very very important for you to be

on a

good protein regimen for life and a shortage of either can cause the

body to

hang on for dear life and you also need lots of vitamins too and well

we

all have to drink water *YUCK* but drinking it
