Guest guest
Dear Sheila and Ed. Thanks very much for your response to my question about incision infection. You relieved my mind BIG TIME. I've taken your suggestions and am using peroxide and triple antibiotic ointment. I've notice that when I first wake up, the incision is not at all red, but once I'm up and moving, it starts to itch and the thin scalpel line gets red. What's up with that, do you reckon? Guest guest
Yeah, this makes sense to me. It is often when I've been really using the muscles in my left leg that the incision starts to really itch and look red. I was thinking about asking my GP for a prescription for antibiotics to have on hand -- not to take for just anything, but rather for any infection I might get in my teeth. I have one tooth that has gotten a popcorn " skin " stuck in the gum and it has gotten infected before I realized what it was. Have any of you done that, gotten an RX for antibiotics to keep on hand? Anyway, I see a local orthopedic doc tomorrow and presumably he can prescribe antibiotics for this incision thing. Thanks very much for your response.
