Guest guest
You might want to specifically ask Andy Cutler about this one. He's an expert on this, also chelated himself. Barb [ ] amalgam removal protocol and post removal elimination Hi, I just joined this list and hope it's OK to post since I don't have autistic children, but I do plan on having a baby hopefully within the next year and would very much like to avoid passing on my mercury load to my child. I'm looking for a safe amalgam removal protocol that I can familiarize myself with. I have two dentists in the area that specialize in mercury amalgam removals and I plan on calling them next week and getting the details of their protocols, which I'd like to compare and match against whatever the safest, most effective protocol is. Does anyone know where I can find an outline of such a protocol? Also, I'm 41 and believe that I may be mercury poisoned. I have 8+ amalgams in my mouth - one taking up almost the whole tooth. I don't have any children yet, but because of my age need to get started very soon, especially since I'd like to have more than one. I follow the nutritional principles of the traditonal cultures that Weston A. Price studied and know that this will give my babies the best chance of being healthy and sturdy. But I'm concerned about my mercury load as mentioned. I believe my mercury load may diminish my best efforts at optimal nutrition. Someone told me the other day that it may take many months or perhaps even years after all amalgams are removed till my body can effectively eliminate much of my mercury load. Does anyone know of a *safe* way to expedite the elimination once my amalgams are out? I've just started reading about the various chelation options, but I was thinking of something that might be less of a crap shoot, such as infrared sauna, which I'm told is very effective at removing heavy metals. Does anyone have any experience with that? I've also been told that there's some type of zinc diode machine that is used in a foot bath that can effectively and safely eliminate heavy metals (and other toxins) through the pores of the feet. Does anyone here have any experience with these machines? And are either of these OK to use *prior* to complete amalgam removal? Thanks for any help, from me and my next generation :-) Suze Fisher Lapdog Design, Inc. Web Design & Development http://members.bellatlantic.net/~vze3shjg Weston A. Guest guest
You can read the IAOMT protocol for mercury removal on my website and other information on how to interview a dentist. I also have links to protocols of several dentists. You can contact DAMS, Dental Amalgam Mercury Syndrome, for an information packet at 1-800-311-6265, www.amalgam.org. There is much more involved than just mercury. Dentists belonging to IAOMT are mercury free, but they are not REQUIRED to follow the IAOMT protocol, so it will be up to you to insist on the protocol that you want. Hal Huggin's alliance of dentists have their own protocol that includes removing mercury in the sequential order of their galvanic electrical charge. You can contact www.hugnet.com for a list of these dentists. The Alliance dentists do blood chemistry testing as part of the Hal Huggins protocol. THanks Marie, I was just looking at your site yesterday and came across the IAOMT protocol. > > Dentists belonging to IAOMT are mercury free, but they are not > REQUIRED to follow the IAOMT protocol, so it will be up to you to > insist on the protocol that you want. > > Hal Huggin's alliance of dentists have their own protocol that > includes removing mercury in the sequential order of their galvanic > electrical charge. I believe one of the dentists in my area follows this protocol. Unfortunately, I don't think I can afford him :-( Appreciate your help :-) Suze

Many months to a few years for BODY mercury. Brain mercury is MUCH longer-- probably longer than your lifetime. Certainly as long as 20 or 40 years, probably longer. > Does anyone know of a *safe* way to expedite the elimination > once my amalgams are out? yes-- chelation with small frequent (3 hr) oral doses of ALA. Wait **at least** 3 months after amalgams are all out before using ALA. > I've just started reading about the various > chelation options, but I was thinking of something that might be less of a > crap shoot, such as infrared sauna, which I'm told is very effective at > removing heavy metals. Does anyone have any experience with that? I can't imagine why that seems like less of a crap shoot than using ALA does...... good wishes, Moria

Hmmm...I'm 41 now so I guess that could well be longer than my lifetime! > > > Does anyone know of a *safe* way to expedite the elimination > > once my amalgams are out? > > yes-- chelation with small frequent (3 hr) oral doses of ALA. > Wait **at least** 3 months after amalgams are all out before > using ALA. Why wait 3 months? I'm concerned about the timing because I need to conceive fairly soon due to my age (I'd like to have more than one baby). I plan on having the amalgams all out by the end of July, then I thought about doing some serious detoxing for 3 to 4 months (perhaps with a far infrared sauna), then checking my mercury levels to see if they're low enough so that I can conceive without worrying about passing on too much to my fetus. I assume it's not wise to get pregnant when chelating? > > > I've just started reading about the various > > chelation options, but I was thinking of something that might be > less of a > > crap shoot, such as infrared sauna, which I'm told is very > effective at > > removing heavy metals. Well, my understanding is that some folks have been severly harmed by chelation (although I don't know about ALA specifically), but I haven't heard of anyone being harmed by an infrared sauna. I just started looking into all this recently, so there are many gaps in my knowledge of this topic, and it could very well be that some folks have been harmed by eliminating mercury via infrared saunas and I just don't know about it. But so far, I've gotten glowing reports on its use as a mercury detoxifier. BTW, I had been taking ALA as an antioxidant supplement up until a few weeks ago when I found out it's a powerful chelator. Is the general consensus that one should NOT take ALA while amalgams are still present? > > good wishes, > Moria Thanks :-) I very much appreciate your feedback!
