Guest guest Posted January 2, 2006 Report Posted January 2, 2006 I haven't done any cleanses, but I was told that candida is in higher incidence with diabetes. Someone did ask about colon cleanses right after I joined the list. It must have been a couple days before you joined cause I think we joined within a week of each other. Darlene Body cleanses Hi, Has anyone on this group done any type of body cleansing (colon, parasite, liver, candida) since being diagnosed? I did a few last year but went from being borderline to diabetic (not that I think the cleanses brought it on as they 'should' be great for you). I am specifically interested in the candida cleanse at this point as it is directly related with so many health issues (excess candida). ~Sandy Quote

Guest guest Posted January 2, 2006 Report Posted January 2, 2006 Yes, candida is definitely up there with illnesses such as diabetes, MS and many many others. I just wanted to be sure it was " safe " do to a cleanse as I'm not positive my doctor will be " up " on body cleanses, although he is an excellent doctor and very up on treatments with alternative meds so he may surprise me! Sandy Re: Body cleanses I haven't done any cleanses, but I was told that candida is in higher incidence with diabetes. Quote

Candida is everywhere in the environment. Even if you could " cleanse " the body of candida, which is extremely doubtful, it would be right back in a matter of days. Ron Quote

Guest guest Posted January 3, 2006 Report Posted January 3, 2006 Thanks Debi - I'll talk to my doc about it. Just seems odd now that I have the sugar under control - maybe I need to try the diflucan. (though not looking forward to being sick - but glad I have been forwarned!) Sandy Re: Body cleanses Sandy, I kept having yeast infections and my doc prescribed diflucan. I took it and the next day was so sick hubby had to call in to work to take care of the kids, I was so dizzy I couldn't raise my head off the pillow. Turns out I was having " die-off reaction " . When you have lots of fungus in your body and it dies off quickly it can really make you sick. Quote

Guest guest Posted January 3, 2006 Report Posted January 3, 2006 Hi Sandy, Ive been taking a lot of Diflucan lately - I just did six months of chemo, and had the yeast infection from hell - and I really mean hell. I ended up taking 200mg a day of Diflucan during each chemo cycle, life would have been unbearable without it. Actually, one of the symptoms when I was diagnozed T.2 was a yeast infection which would not quite go away. It was explained to me at the cancer clinic, that because I was a diabetic, I would always be prone to yeast infections, it kinda goes with the territory, a Re: Body cleanses Sandy, I kept having yeast infections and my doc prescribed diflucan. Guest guest Posted January 3, 2006 Report Posted January 3, 2006 My GYN told me that if you use the same kind of anti-fungal over time it loses effectiveness. Just wanted to throw that out there in case you find the diflucan isn't working. HTH, and get better soon! Debi Quote

Guest guest Posted January 3, 2006 Report Posted January 3, 2006 Hi a, I knew about the candida and type 2 diabetes - I have had problems since I was a teenager unfortunately but didn't expect it to get worse after diagnosis recently and getting sugars under control. Doesn't make sense. Wonder if years of too much candida in your system can bring on diabetes?! I am glad you are a survivor and hope you are doing well by the way. My mother in law is battling breast cancer.
