Guest guest
There is a virus going around that uses the address book on your PC to send emails with an attachment. Please delete these and don't open them unless you are sure about the authenticity. I have not sent an email with an attachment. If you receive them as I expect you will, you should notify all those in your address book - I haven't tried but am assured that most anti-virus software will cope with it. You are listed on the computer address book of the Frost family. Frost P.S. I have had 8 or 9 suspect emails so far. I don't know whether the following helps but it's infomation I have in my possession about a virus operating in such a manner:- Dangerous Mass-Mailing Worm Found - W32.Mydoom.B@mm! ____________ A worm found on Monday, January 26th has already been duplicated and is also attacking e-mail users everywhere. The worm, known as 'W32.Mydoom.B@mm', is a mass-mailing worm that arrives as an attachment in your email. This variant worm also spoofs the 'from' address which confuses many people. This affects Microsoft Windows (95, 98, NT, 2000, XP, Me, & 2003 Server) users. The threat is at a level 2 and has a very high distribution rating. For optimal security it is suggested that you update your anti-virus software. Guest guest
To elaborate a little more on 's and Deanna's posts *wink* I had prepared this to post before I knew they had already posted. As many may know, there are some viruses going around to Lupies that appear to be from Deanna and (maybe others). The virus is w32.beagle.x@mm and it is a worm. The worm works by stealing address books. Deanna's and 's names were in the address book that was stolen. It appears thatthe email came from them, but truly it DID NOT. Obviously they would not have themselves listed in their own address book. And besides, as much as they do to take care of us, we all know they would never do anything to hurt us!!! The virus tainted emails will continue to happen until the infected person's computer is cleaned. The infected person will have NO way of knowing their computer is infected without running the check. No one has done anything wrong, it's just the way these terrible viruses work Below is a link with the information on the virus and a removal tool from Norton Antivirus. This is a very, very common virus that is spreading rapidly. Please update your virus definitions and run your virus checker software. There are some free virus checkers available if you don't own one. Here's the link for the virus information - http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.beagle.x@m m.html Hugs to all - Jerri
