Guest guest
Its been about 9 months since my resurfacing. I feel great and Am grateful I qualified for it. For the poster that asked about Dr Gross and his staff, they are as good as it gets and better by far! Back to me, 2 weeks after my surgery while dressing, I lifted my leg, turned my toes inward and went to raise my pants. All of a sudden I got this shooting pain from my groin down the inside of my thight to my knee. For a moment I was unable to put weight on it, after lying down for a while I felt fine, but had tenderness in my groin area out to my upper thigh. I lived with it, took vioxx and was fine. In December I felt great and stopped taking vioxx. Last week, while Moving a partially full 100 Gallon Propane tank, I grabbed the side I was supposed to carry. with my weight planted on my operated leg turning my right shoulder inward (crossing my body basically. What I now believe to be the similiar to the motion that injured me previously). WHen The weight of the tank increased I got the same (but more severe) shooting pain from my left groin down my leg into my knee, dropping me like a rock! I could not tolerate weight for a few hours again and am still tender. I went to the ER for xrays which were Negative (device intact). The next day I saw an Ortho near me who does resurfacing, new set of xrays and he DIagnosised it as soft tissue or tendon injury. As the week has passed I am feeling better but still have dull minimal pain in the groin and upper thigh. I am writing this detailed email to see if anyone here has had any similiar experience. I am wondering if this is Psoas (no lower back pain though) or possibly related to the femoral nerve and if anyone received treatment that was usefull, besides months of vioxx. Thanks in advance , God Bless and Be safe, ny
Guest guest
I'd like to know if having yeast I must have some particular attentions with the diet, if I have to avoid some food between those allowed. For example can I eat pollen? It helps me to have a few of energy in this period so warm..I love fruit and I need of minerals in summer season (I suffer with my low blood pressure) but I've noticed that quantities of fruits can cause me diarrhea and the same is with nuts (almonds in particular). I'm yet so weak... ***, I don't know about pollen but I have yeast candida problems also and must avoid fruit and nuts as much as possible. Because the worst of it is behind me, I can tolerate 1 or 1.5 fruit a day and 1 muffin. The fruit have to be low in sugar: berries and grapefruit are best. If you have lots of vegees, some high carb like squash, and lots of protein, and yogurt, it should regulate your blood sugar. I'm sure others can offer you more assistance as I am also fairly new at this. Good luck, GERDS and chronic C. SCD 15 mths >
Guest guest
I realized that following standard SCD was not enough for me, so I moved to low-carb scd. I have to be very careful with fruit and sweet vegetables such as carrots. No honey. No carbs after midday. There are information about candida in the files of the group. If you discover anything that helps, please tell us. I am also eating garlic and ginger. Guest guest
HI , It's important to try and stay balanced on the SCD. Low fructose fruits like berries. Have you tried the SCD yogurt? What about probitics including S. Boulardii (it has been wonderful helping me fight yeast) Also, have you gone to natural anti-fungals at all? Or eating foods that have antifungal properties like coconut oil? Try and eat a protein first thing when you wake up in the morning too. Guest guest
Some fruits naturally have more carbs than others. Bananas are relatively high-carb, though a lot of people tolerate them well. So are strawberries. If a fruit tastes really sweet it probably is higher carb than one that tastes less sweet. I empathize with your difficulties getting started. I myself love Italian food and really miss pasta and breads, which I imagine might have been important to your diet previously. But I’m wondering why you felt the need to eliminate all fruit? Re: muffins. There are various types of SCD “legal” muffins you can make that use almond flour (finely ground blanched almonds) instead of wheat flour. I personally like the apple muffins in one of my SCD cookbooks, though I change it a bit. (It calls for homemade applesauce as well as two peeled, chopped apples. I use SCD yogurt instead of the applesauce. The recipe is: Apple Muffins (from Grain-Free Gourmet) 2 cups (500 mL) almond flour; ¼ tsp (1 mL) salt ½ tsp (2mL) baking soda 1 tsp (5 mL) cinnamon (I use 2 tsp; I love cinnamon!) 2 fairly tart apples, peeled and chopped 3 eggs ½ cup (125 mL) applesauce (I use ½ cup yogurt.) 1/3 cup (75 mL) honey (I cut that to ¼ cup). Heat oven to 325 F (160 C). Line a muffin tin with baking cups. Combine wet ingredients, dry ingredients, then mix them together. Fill the baking cups. Bake for 20-25 minutes. n From: BTVC-SCD [mailto:BTVC-SCD ] On Behalf Of vanessa danselmi Sent: Wednesday, June 24, 2009 8:17 AM To: BTVC-SCD Subject: R: Re: some questions What do tou mean with low carb. fruit???maybe berries?what kind???now I've eliminate all fruit..I'm so sad... How do you make muffin?Sorry, in Italy we have a diet so different, and besides I'm new on scd..It's so coplicated for me Vane
