Mikes absolutely right. It all depends on your own body and what you can do. I

live out in the country so attending classes isn't an option. I started out

doing a 20 min relaxation video. Now I use videos, books, magazines, and

whatever else. I do some power Yoga and also use a Yoga ball. For me, it's a

matter of adjusting the pose so that I don't hurt myself. I would suggest

starting with the Gaiam " P.M. Yoga for Beginners " You don't want to join a

class and then find out that it's too hard on your body. It's very important to

start out very slowly.

If a pose is too hard to do, modify it. If you're standing, bring your feet

closer together than they suggest. It will give you better balance and less

strain.

Building muscle strength and flexibility has been very important to me and is

credited for the amount of activity I do. (and I do a LOT of activity!) (I have

2 boys that are 1 and 4 years old) If I can think of any other suggestions I'll

be sure to pass it on.

Thanks for the hints, Onale! I'm going to look for the book - I've wanted to

try it for a long time, but knew I wouldn't be able to go to a regular class.
