Guest guest
Which WF are you going to, Cupertino or further south? Most of them in this area (I'm in Sunnyvale) have the Blue Diamond Nut Thins (pecan is the favorite at our house), Tinkyada pasta and Namaste pizza crust mix. You can also find the Namaste mixes at some Albertons stores. All of those products would make our family favorites list. For cookies, try the frozen choc. chip by Kapcakes (at Draegers), the biscotti by Mariposa Baking or the local brand of GF brownies that WF carries (currently having a brain hiccup and can't think of the name of them). Guest guest
Dear Piglet (et al), Thanks for starting this. Do double-check all our favorites for factory cross-contamination (e.g. Diamond Brand crackers). If you're a newbie, you might not want to " go there " just yet. My choices are free of dairy, soy and canola: favorite energy bar - Boomie Bar, " Healthy Hazel " flavor (Found them online; now my local store carries them for me) Better for diabetics than many bars (high protein to fat/sugar ratios) favorite pizza crust - made from Namaste's mix. It has Italian seasoning in it. Smells great, too. favourite cereal: brown rice with almonds and raisins. I eat Gorilla Munch (by EnviroKids) as a dessert/snack with fruit and almond milk. (Visiting wheat-eaters like it, too, because it holds its crunch in milk.) favourite GF bread (ready to eat): Multi-Seed Rice Bread (Food for Life) Doesn't need toasting. Has a sourdough texture. favourite salad dressing: Annie's Basil & Garlic vinaigrette favourite cookie: Kinnickinnick Lemon Cranberry! (found them in Dallas) favourite microwave meal: Corn Maiden chicken tamales (@ Trader Joe's fridge section) or those foil-bagged Indian meals I keep in my earthquake kit (@ TJ and elsewhere). favourite pasta: Tinkiyada spirals favourite (packaged) soup: Coco Pazzo Tuscan Lentil Soup with Thyme (WF stopped carrying it, so I took the label to a hometown healthfood store and they stock it for us) favorite deli meat: Tuscan Salami (@ Whole Foods) (but I nuke it on a paper towel for 10 seconds before making my sandwich--to pull some of the fat out) safest tortilla: La Gloria Corn Tortillas, sold in LA Whole Foods. Totally GF building. The wheat ones are made elsewhere. favorite cookbook: Carol Fenster anything! Fools the most wheat-eaters: Namaste Brownie Mix favorite celiac secret/tip: yoga is for everybody, and it's great for digestion Cheers, Santa Clarita, CA > So, let's get on with it and compare what our favourites are, and > maybe this will encourage me to get a few new items when I hit WFs > tomorrow!
