Guest guest
Yep, I can relate .. Yesterday I bought some of hubby's favorite ice-cream, he wanted some..it was also one of my red-light foods big time...Vanilla.. By the time I got home it was in that soft stage around the top edges.. I told myself I was absolutely not going to get side swiped by it.. simply put, because I cannot take a portion and leave it alone..red-light foods cause me to lose control big time..and I know I should stay away from them until I can handle them, if ever... But Wrong!!! I did!! BUT, for some reason I stayed in my right mind. I measured out a cup and counted it..6-Points... then licking my lips heading right back into the freezer and got it out again..measured out a half cup..3- Points. For this red-light food I paid 9-Points and it was only 11:00 am... It took a lot for me not to continue to have more..I really believe measuring and knowing the Points Value stopped me.. I put it into a bag so I would not see it in the freezer. I knew I did not want to lose this control that was coming over me. I was a happy camper this morning.. But just when I think I can handle something by talking to myself about it, does not work.. I can't handle red-light foods yet. So being allergic to chocolate I have drizzled a tad over the top, enough to scare me out of it..my only salvation, with it in the house. I have seen me do this immediately after bringing it in the house before to keep me out of it.. but yesterday I did not have the will power to do it immediately.. but I knew I did not want to lose myself into a few days of being off track. I have learned a lot through WW, and gaining control is one of them, hard at times, but doable.. to me 9-Points for a dish of ice-cream in the morning was too, too many...plus I already had my breakfast... So the lesson is to be sure to measure and count no matter what. It just may save ya....looking at that big old * 9 * sitting there in my journal so early in the day was kind of scary to say the least... I ended my day right on track.. I am still amazed at myself... Good for you for counting your points also.... ~~Kallie~ ------------------------------------------------------------------- In Serious-Weight-Watchers , " " <hometeaching5@y...> wrote: > Hello ~ > > Whenever my family eats out at Fazoli's, I eat too many breadsticks. Guest guest
, I do not eat there because of that reason! I just cannot say NO to those breadstix that they bring around.......I could eat a basket full and I don't know the points on them, but they are soaked in butter, so that has to be bad!! I do love the spaghetti there, but don't go because the breadstix. Same reason I don't go to the Olive Garden anymore ( Moe
Guest guest
Hi , I think everyone can relate to what you are talking about. WTG on journaling all the points! The best thing would be to have a plan. Figure out what exactly it is you want to eat and the points for those things, then plan it in your days points. When you really think about this program, we can really eat anything we want as long as we watch the portions. Here is a tough (or maybe easy) question for you....Did you really enjoy all 5 of the breadsticks, or would you have been just as happy with 2 or 3? I know for myself, a lot of times I really enjoy one bite (or maybe a whole piece of breadstick) but then I am happy to not have anymore. Next time you go, plan on just 2 or 3 for your whole meal and see if you can make it...kind of a challenge. Maureen Fazoli's - my achilles heel Hello ~ Whenever my family eats out at Fazoli's, I eat too many breadsticks. (if you haven't heard of Fazoli's, it's an Italian fast food place and they have the most delicious hot breadsticks - and when you finish eating the two they give you at the counter, then they come around with a basket of them and ask if you want more!) We were there last night, and I ate five. Yes, five. Does that disqualify me as a serious Weight Watcher? :-) On a positive note, I DID count the points. So at least I'm not in denial about my breadstick addiction. Short of not eating at Fazoli's - what can I do differently - so I eat maybe TWO breadsticks. Not FIVE. (they are 3 points each!) Can anyone relate? Thanks! in CO
Guest guest
I've never eaten at Fazoli's, so I'm not sure how things work there, but.... On the way to the restaurant, I would plan ahead and ask my husband how many breadsticks he wants, allot one for my daughter (she's not big on those), and decide AHEAD OF TIME how many I wanted to eat. I would then ask the waiter/waitress to bring us that exact number of breadsticks. I would also order an appetizer of broth-based soup or salad and ask for it to be delivered immediately so I could start in on that as soon as my allotment of breadsticks was gone. Also--I would bring gum. If all else fails, pop some gum in your mouth. Breadsticks and gum. Ew!!! Would that work? P.S.: If you're willing to spend the points and have are vigilant about counting them, I don't think you should be *too* hard on yourself. That's what flexpoints are for. > Hello ~ > > Whenever my family eats out at Fazoli's, I eat too many breadsticks.

Guest guest
You could go through the drive through and then they only give you 1 or 2 breadsticks and you could still have the meals and not be tempted by the extra breadsticks.
Guest guest
You're totally a serious weight watcher! 1. You identified a trigger. 2. You journaled it. 3. You made plans to deal with it. Can you cut them in half the long way? Then eat one " spear " at a time? Save one for last instead of eating two right away? > Fazoli's - my achilles heel > > > Hello ~ > > Whenever my family eats out at Fazoli's, I eat too many > breadsticks.
