Guest guest
Hoping all you experienced ones will give me some input there. Background info: I started on l/4 grain generic Armour prescribed by my NP on Nov. 1st after going off Synthroid. By now I'm taking 1 3/4 grains daily & noticing feeling better in some areas, but not all. That is the dosage that is equivalent to the 125mcg Synthroid I was on. I've been raising by l/4 grain per week so far & noticing a bit more improvement with each increase after the first few rockier days, especially with depression. So I'm heartened I'm doing the right thing. Having still a very little bit of louder heart-beats after increases, but not faster or irregular that I can tell. Also a bit of restlessness & uneasiness attending that but not really hyper like being on a caffeine high. Still have scads of hypoT symptoms. Questions: Should I raise up to 2 grains this week or not? Or should I wait for my recent FT3/FT4 blood test results I had the blood draw for a few days ago? Also I'm taking generic Armour which is the l/4 grain my NP prescribed along with generic Armour from Time-Caps (myrxforless). Should I switch & buy Nature Throid because I have allergies to some things but don't seem to from this Armour generic that I've noticed so far? Guest guest
I would go to 2 grains and wait 6 weeks from there if it were me and make sure you don't do any soy lecithin Re: Caroline's questions/dosage increasesr Hoping all you experienced ones will give me some input there. Guest guest
Caroline You're starting to get further into the upper ranges of treatment now, so no, I would say to stay on your dose you're on for the full 6 wks, or at least until you get the blood tests. Two week increases from this point on is too much. Remember, the T4 from a two wk old new dose has not yet come into play. When my Armour runs out, I'll be starting the Natur-Throid I just got in a few days ago, so I'll letcha know that one then. Guest guest
Ok then, , I'll wait for the blood test results then & not increase today. I'm feeling much better on this l 3/4 grains so will ask my NP to prescribe this much for me for another couple of months then & see how it goes. Hope she'll do that or I'll just have to continue self-dosing with the Time-Caps or Nature Throid if I decide to buy that. I'll be watching for your email about how you're doing on that too. Thanx bunches, CP Re: Caroline's questions/dosage increasesr Caroline You're starting to get further into the upper ranges of treatment now, so no, I would say to stay on your dose you're on for the full 6 wks, or at least until you get the blood tests.
