The kids are headed to get him fitted for shoes & brace. Dr. Cassidy was very happy with the club feet correction. However, whoever put the last casts on didn't do it correctly and Logan has bruises on both legs and open bleeding sores behind the knees. My daughter had thought that he seemed in more pain this time, but didn't know how bad the legs were until they removed casts. Apparently, they usually put cast from feet to knee then start a new cast overlapping at knee up to groin. The regular casting guy said the the person who put on the last casts had made the first section too high and it caused the sores. The regular casting guy was real upset and was going to track down the person who did it and give him a lesson. Anyway, they are onto the next step and proceeding accordingly. Will keep you all update. By the way, I'm really glad that I found this board. You have all helped me to understand what my daughter is going through. Jasper had sores behind his knees as well and I felt so awful for him. They came about because he grew sooo much while that last set of casts were on (when the plaster was cut they kinda popped apart) - they are still red now but not open and look better every day - it's been two weeks. I've been putting pawpaw cream on them (a natural antiseptic without the sting - I get it from the health food store) which helped. Friction from clothing/ changing rubs and I had to be extra careful - to keep them clean too. I didn't bandage them as the air helped the skin heal quicker and they had been in plaster so long that I thought it would help if they were uncovered, but I guess it depends how much they are weeping. In that position, with the skin folds of the back of the knee, I think they take longer to heal then anywhere else but they will heal before you know it.
