Guest guest Posted September 30, 2006 Report Posted September 30, 2006 how long after starting Arimedex did you start having gas? Did you or do you have stomach aches as well? Nausea with it? Any watery stools with any of this? I've been off tx. for about 1 1/2 yrs and on Arimidex for about 1 year. This is something new starting and just thought I'd " pick your brain " thanks Darlene Janet Andersen wrote: Janet M I do have a lot of gas and GasX does a great job. Guest guest Posted September 30, 2006 Report Posted September 30, 2006 Hi Darlene - I'm jumping in here, hope you don't mind. I have awful gas and stomach aches with the Arimidex. Never had indigestion problems before taking this drug, so it must be a side effect of it. I did not have any problems with stools - the opposite is true for me because I'm on iron for anemia and no nausea at all. Did you ever get or do you have joint/bone pain??? Since you've been on it a year now and I've only been on it 6 weeks, I'm interested in any information you may have on it. Thanks. Guest guest Posted September 30, 2006 Report Posted September 30, 2006 Hi Ellen, I was on Arimidex for about a year and the joint aches and pains simply got worse and worse. I thought I was just getting old and developing arthritis or something. Fortunately, I mentioned it to my Oncologist who said, " NO! That's the medication! " We tried both Aromasin and Femara - each one worse than the other. So now I am off everything for 2 weeks and will start monthly shots next week. My Doc says some women simply do better with the shots - fewer side effects. I will keep you posted. I must add here, that even while off the meds, I still have aches and pains - they are significantly better though. I'm also messing with heart stuff - irregular heartbeats and am on Toprol, Coumadin and Advicor. I no longer can tell what is causing what! I tell you what - I've spent my whole life healthy as a horse, and I'm payin the price now!!! I ALSO am having irregular heart beats and was thinking it had nothing to do with the meds - mayde it does???? Did your Doc's relate the heart issues to the drugs? The info you get from each other is sooooooo important - thanks Maya. Ellen > > Janet M > > > > I do have a lot of gas and GasX does a great job. Guest guest Posted October 1, 2006 Report Posted October 1, 2006 No one has yet connected the irregular heart stuff with the meds - doesn't mean there isn't a connection! Problem is that I was on Vioxx (irregularly cuz I didn't like it) for about a year. Then had an episode of bradycardia and went through a series of tests. Really nothing showed up except a small prolapsed valve - now I must take antibiotics before going to the dentist. I think this is just one big joke on me - I come from a family of jokers.
