Guest guest
Sorry Cytomel didn't work for you, but -- I don't see why the doctor would care! You have to be off the Cytomel for 2 weeks before the scan/treatment anyway. And not all docs even prescribe Cytomel (for whatever reason), nor do all patients feel they need it, or they need & take less than the maximum allowed. bj Re: Cytomel > I had a bad experience with the cytomel. I would take it and within an hour, vomit. So I had to prepare for my radiation with nothing in my system. The drs. weren't thrilled with it but wasn't doing me much good if I couldn't keep it in my system. >
Guest guest
My insurance pays for all but 10% of cytomel. I have United Healthcare. Depending on what insurance you have I would suggest the pharmacy try putting it through again and see what happens. I have had that happen to me with other meds......computer glitch???? don't know.VeniziaSubject: cytomelTo: RT3_T3 Date: Thursday, April 29, 2010, 11:18 AM Ok so I just had my dr switch me from a compounded t3/troche to Cytomel. I had no idea it is so expensive! It will cost me $100.00 a month IF I stay at 75mcg. Insurance would not cover anything. Is this everyones experience? And WHY is it so spendy? I am really angry at this. Who could afford this? Is the government to blame? Do they regulate the cost of pharmaceuticals? It's a great way to keep people sick! Guest guest
Mine is covered by insurance, too. My co-pay is $30 for a 90 day supply. Compounded SR T3 was way more expensive. Guest guest
I am also on Cytomel -- it is $50 per month no matter what strength or how many my doc prescribes. Luckily for me, the script is for 25 mcg 5 times per day so I get that many per month for $50 and now need only about half of that due to clearance. I have Aetna insurance. Guest guest
I agree with you Peggy. I was on Sr T3 for several months and insurance paid but my portion was much bigger plus it was a pain to have to fill out all the forms. I had to get reimbursed by the insurance company which paying for the meds took a big chunck out of my budget. Of course the insurance co. didn't care how long it took them to reimburse me either.Venizia From: Suzanne Kann <kannsuzanne@ rocketmail. com>Subject: cytomelTo: RT3_T3 (AT) yahoogroups (DOT) comDate: Thursday, April 29, 2010, 11:18 AM Ok so I just had my dr switch me from a compounded t3/troche to Cytomel.
