Hi,

Well it just gets better and better (being sarcastic).

Here in IN they are trying to pass a new law. We already have a cap on what we

can sue a doc for. Now they want to be able to force you to settle out of court

to save the docs and insurance companies more money. That's why we're all here!

Right! They say this will attract good docs to IN. Well... hasn't worked so far.

That's why I had to go to KY for my myo. That's why it took 5 docs here, 3 years

to figure out I had a fibroid (they said " it was in my head " - looking in the

wrong area!). My KY RE doc said a medical student could have figured it out

there. By the time I hit the ER with anemia severe enough to kill, the ER doc

was screaming about my lack of treatment by my MD. (My MD said that fibroids

have nothing to do with anemia). He's a sharp tack. NOT!

I don't know about other docs in other states but around here they have side

businesses. So 1/2 the office is for ill people the other 1/2 is for beauty

treatments. Soon you'll be able to tan (sorta like a dentist giving candy to

their clients), shop or get your pet trimmed at the doc's office. I kid you not.

Common sense says that the laws we have attract BAD docs and they are trying to

make it even better for them with this lastest attempt. And why shouldn't a doc

be sued with no caps anyways? I have no caps for me. No special laws! And when

is enough money enough for them? How about getting rid of bad docs? I don't do

my job correctly, I get fired and I don't injure of kill anyone either. It's all

enough to make you sick!

I feel for you. You have every right to be angry. Keep on trying. Keep fighting!

You go girl!

two myos in one year is not considered wrong!!!

I would expect a doctor to know the sorts of generaliseed

summaries of information presented in women's health books

covering various issues. If a doctor knows they don't know

enough about a certain health issue they shouldn't make things

up, pretending they do. We wouldn't mind if a GP was honest

and said they had to consult with a colleague or pass us on to

another doctor, as it wasn't their sphere of expertise.

< So 1/2 the office is for ill people the other 1/2 is for beauty

treatments.> I saw something on a UK (BUPA, I think) site about

stretch marks and couldn't believe it.

Maybe the place to fix these problems in the long term is in the

medical schools training and recruitment. They could be taught a

better attitude towards patient-doctor relationships that is based

on common decency towards fellow humans, rather than

superficiality and defensiveness.

You may say Im Catriona

But I'm not the only one....
