That is wonderful news! So glad she will be with you. I think it would be

terrible to be taken back to a empty room. I am so lucky with my daughters and

son in laws. The day I had my resect they all took off work and sat 7 hrs while

I was in surgery and recovery. Then came to my room and one stayed all night. I

told them not to sit all day waiting and was shocked my son in laws were also

there. I told my newest son in law he should not have taken off work and done

that. He said " Your my Mom to " I have never forgotten that.

These are times I miss my husband so much. He was always my tower of strength

and there for me when I needed him.

I think I have mentioned before I got a staph infection in the hospital. It sure

was no fun and almost killed me. The only good part is now I never have to pay

for a private room. Every time I go in, even when I went to ER with a sprained

wrist I get put in isolation because I once had the staph infection so they have

to put me in a private room and I only pay for a semi:) Not that I want to go

back again but looks like I will be.

Best of luck during your surgery - so glad that your daughter will be there for

you. My Mom and I were there for my Dad's surgery - we were able to stay with

him in preop until he was ready to go into surgery -- they even let me go in the

recovery room. Special prays for you.. G

Re: Praise the Lord - off topic but good news

Praise the Lord for he answers prayers and hegives us the desires of our

hearts. I beleave in my Jesus and he forgives us when we fall short He wants our

prayer our love and he will bring that to attention when he wants us to listen

to him. With my son schizophrenia and my sister w/ stage three cancer He has

gotten my attention again. And yet in all of this I feel his peace and love. I

am happy for u Lori H

" Not doing anything unless I want to " ............. good for you.

I am pretty much there . Five years. My oh my. What a long time.

This will be a long day for me. Surgery for me tomorrow to get rid of Hillary

the Colostomy. I am now in the phase that creeps me out...taking all the drinks

and things to clean me out and it all goes gurgling into the bag. ick and double

ick.

Glad you can get out to work some. I have been out of work for a year and now

am on disability. I will miss working but handling all of this myself has made

my depression the hardest thing to bear.

Still holding the Hand of the Lord, we go day by day.

Karima, I'll be thinking of you today and tomorrow and all the days until you

get back. I hope everything goes perfectly and you are in great shape when you

get back on here. I imagine it's going to take a little time to get everything

working right again, but I know you'll like not having Hillary there anymore.

Good luck to you! ~~Dianna

Kaye,

I'm glad you're still hanging around here. I'm also stage iv, had surgery

almost two years ago and the idiot onc I saw the first time told me " you have

six months without chemo, 22 months with. " Well, I went into such a tailspin I

couldn't believe it. I wish I'd never paid any attention to it because I wasted

a lot of time being heartbroken. I found this board a couple months later and

you've really been an inspiration to me. I don't have the other problems you

have with diabetes, but I did go for scans first part of May and saw the doc and

so far it's all clear. I have a kind of hard spot on my side where the original

tumor was that's a little achy now and then but nothing showed up in the scans

so I'm supposed to schedule a fine needle aspiration just to be sure.

I'm thrilled, obviously, at still being here 22 months later. Idiot doctor!

Idiot me!! I figured in 22 months lung cancer couldn't get me so I actually

started smoking again. Now, how dumb was that?? I'm so sorry you're having

problems, but you hang in there, hun, and take it easy. You're an inspiration

to others besides just me I'm sure.

good to hear from you...yes I am still hanging around here and doing pretty

good..better than it has been in awhile...I also had a Dr. to tell me at the

beginning of this nightmare that I would have between 14 and 17 months at

most...but it would be unusual...well that was 5 and a half years ago...I look

like I have never been sick (right now) some days whew not so good..I refused to

listen to that dr. and have stayed upbeat and determined to get as much out of

each day as I can...my daughter is expecting a baby in Oct. so that will make

our 12th grandchild...my brain still tells me I am young but all I have to do is

look around and I know better..but I do have a good quality of life...it always

upsets me when drs. try to tell you how it is going to be with time etc..they DO

NOT KNOW....

so glad to hear your scans showed clear...great news...keep me posted when you

get the other results of the needle biopsy...

I still have cancer mets in several places but in the last little bit they have

been behaving and not growing...

keep me updated on yourself...hugs,kaye
