Guest guest Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 When I had my biopsy I had no pain. The dr gave me a shot of something that numbed the site. I didn't even need a stitch. Just had to keep a bandaid over it for a few days and keep it clean. I will keep you in my prayers. Guest guest Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 My biopsy was not particularly painful, just uncomfortable. For me, my lump was on the inside towards my heart area, sitting on a bone, so it took some manipulating to get the needle in there. I think if the lump were in a fattier area, it would be easier to get at. Plus, the radiation Doc. who performed mine was not the most pleasant person in the world (to put it nicely). It's emotionally difficult and, as you know, worrisome so although it was not a good experience, not a particularly painful one. Best of luck. Guest guest Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 When I had my needle biopsy the inserted a clip to be able to pinpoint the exact spot again. I think it is pretty much routine. Guest guest Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 A clip was put in when I had my biopsy. This helps the surgeon find the area if you need to have surgery. It will also help the radiologist keep track of the site on future mamos. The marker is removed during surgery. You should get the report in about a week telling you what follow - up you need to do if any. Good luck Eileen - Age 52, lumpectomy for DCIS- waiting to discuss with radiation oncologist and oncologist to follow up further treatment. Guest guest Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 We always seem to be..........on pause. I also have a grade 3, which means " poorly differentiated " looking. You'll know more about your treatment when they stage it and do other testing. Keep the faith! I had 4 rounds of chemo, 33 radiation treatments and am now on Arimidex. Best of luck with the Doctor - I'll keep you in my prayers. Hugs! Guest guest Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 Hi Wanda, I'm happy to hear that you are home safely and without difficulties. Hopefully the pathology reports will come back with good news. Best wishes for your upcoming surgery on the 11th, you'll be in our prayers. Can I ask, what causes the requirements for the hysterectomy? What are the variables or tests they do to determine that out come? Louise Wanda wrote: My biopsy is done The only difficult thing of it was inserting the needles and wires because the one area was pretty deep and in a bad location The radiologist tried to talk me into doing only one side today and the other side later I refused so I had them both done Then I went to surgery under general anesthesia and they removed the areas affected on both breast I am home with percocet and doing OK...with very little drainage I will get the pathology report back on Tuesday The DR had said Monday but he had no available appointments So this much is done...now for results and the hysterectomy on the 11th Hopefully I will need no more breast surgery on the 11th Wanda Quote
