Like it? Love it? Hate it? (Why?)

and... How is this summer different than last year (or years before)?

My Answer:

Love it! This year summer has been so much nicer than in the past. I have been

comfortable wearing shorts and little sun dresses out in public. I love being

able to do things out in the yard. I love all the fresh produce that is

available during the summer.

Don't really like the hot, humid weather during the summer....I am talking about

when it gets up around 100; but since I live in Texas I guess that is my own

fault. LOL! Also, it is usually cool enough in the mornings and evenings that I

can still be outside working in the yard. Especially since our yard has lots of

trees, there is usually someplace in the shade.

What about you?

Maureen

Hm

I don't like summer

I don't like being warm AT ALL.

I don't like wearing summer clothes; I don't like getting dressed up Sundays

and for work bc it's too hot for pantyhose; although in casual gear having

my Birkenstocks be appropriate foot gear is nice for a change from the

winter.

I don't like the sand or getting wet at the beach and I don't like going in

the pool and, as can be imagined, with my 230ish lb body I'm not a fan of

bathing suits, and I'm very fair so I don't try to tan and must take extreme

measures to avoid it - I use the same 30-50 block I put on the kids - but

both the beach and pool going are activities I do frequently bc my family

likes em

I don't like needing to water the plants every night bc watering them during

the day burns them and forgetting to water them kills them. I liked having

a productive garden two years ago but we got flooded last year so we're

filling the gardening area this year so we don't have the garden so that's

no fun.

I usually like my husband's summer schedule as he is a school teacher and

his summer school hours are abbreviated even if he tutors for an hour or two

afterward each day; but this year he's taking a grad school course so he's

gone 3 nights a week and stays at school to do his homework between summer

school and grad school - so I never see him more than during the school year

which seriously stinks but it's a sacrifice for a good cause. *sigh*

I don't like how summer makes it difficult to keep any sort of good schedule

for the kids - it's bright for so long into the night it's harder to get

them in the house and ready for bed at a decent hour.

But mostly I don't like the heat..

I don't like summer.

I need to move to Maine - or Alaska.

:-)
