Guest guest
I believe that there are 19 Shriners Hospitals in the US. Five years ago, there weren't any Ponseti method doctors in any of their hospitals. Now I believe that there are Ponseti method doctors in at least the Shriners at St. Louis, Greenville N.C., Springfield Mass., Minnneapolis, Portland, Spokane, Tampa, and possible some others. There are now more and more doctors who are beginning to offer Ponseti types of treatment, but I don't think that there have yet been any parents who have been the the Shreveport Shriners and said that their child was getting Ponseti method treatment. You could e-mail Dr. Ponseti to ask him and/or Dr. Dobbs at the St. Louis Shriners to see if they are aware of any Ponseti doctors at the Shreveport Shriners. In looking at the web site of the Shreveport Shriners, they have a page that shows who their three main doctors are at: http://www.shrinershq.org/shc/shreveport/team.html For a number of years, Dr. Pickvance (who had been in Pittsbugh PA up to Dec 2002) had the only article on Clubfoot for parents at the POSNA web site that discussed clubfoot surgery but not the Ponseti method. That article went away when POSNA updated their web site a while ago. http://www.shrinershq.org/shc/shreveport/team.html You could also call the doctors at the Shreveport Shriners to ask them. and (3-17-99) > Is there a good, qualified Ponseti Approved doctor at the Shriners in Shreveport, Louisiana? > > Thanks, > s. > > >
Guest guest
Ok, I'll follow up on that further - basically it would just be for Everett's follow up treatments - our neighbor suggested it today as he is a Shriner and offered to take us there if need be. s.
