Hi Tia,

The bar will be much too short at hip width and will cause

discomfort. You are not making too big of a deal!

The clips on Owen's bar have broken twice now - might I suggest that

rather than getting a non-adjustable bar (which you'll have to

replace as Kelby grows), just order a bunch of the clips? They're

super cheap. In the meantime, maybe you could get some sort of clamp

from a hardware store that will function well for now. Just a

thought.

Tia,

Five years ago, the adjustable bar provided at the U of Iowa used 2

automobile hose clamps to hold it in place. We used that type of

adjustable bar until about 2 years of age when we got the one with

the clips. If you go to an auto parts store, you should be able to

get some to use temporarily until you get a permanent solution.

You can see the hose clamps in 's photo from June 1999 at the

following site.

we have an unadjustable bar and i am not sure where they measured but i think

that her bar is to short and she wont wear the shoes to bed. she wakes up crying

so i would definently check into it, and you are not making a big deal b/c it is

a big deal. good luck
