Guest guest
That is so cute and a great example of how parents can make the FAB a positive part of their little ones life. Guest guest
Joanne, You always have such great stories! Thanks for sharing! Zoe's latest is she wants a baby brother with " 2 club feet " (she only has one clubfoot)... At one point, Dr. Herzenberg said Zoe only needed to wear the shoes at night time, but I was concerned that it would mess up her napping routine if she didn't have them on. He said it was fine either way... So, I attempted to not put the shoes on her at naptime. Nothing doing. She did end up giving up naps soon after even though I kept the shoes on...So sad. Best, Joanne W. mom to Zoe (3-25-01, right clubfoot) Message: 1 Date: Mon, 17 May 2004 20:13:37 -0700 (PDT) Subject: Funny Shoe story Alaya has been in the FAB at night only for almost a year now. Today she was supposed to be napping, but was yelling " I want OUT " . When I finally couldn't take it any more I went into her room and she had every pair of shoes she owns (10 maybe) on the bed. She was crying and said she needed shoes on. I told her she didn't have to wear shoes at nap. She said she needed shoes or her feet would get cold. I finally calmed her and explained that it was hot enough she didn't need shoes. As I think about it I think she thinks she wears her FAB to keep her feet warm, although we have talked about her clubfeet. She even has a clubfeet photo album. I guess it is so much a part of the routine she doesn't know how to respond to not wearing shoes. I just found it funny.
