Guest guest
We were seen today by a different ortho doctor today who thinks the blister is mildly infected, which is causing the generalized swelling. At least I have an answer now and we've started him on antibiotics and we're leaving him out of braces and casts for a week to allow it to do its thing. We expect about three more weeks of casting to achieve FULL correction before we start with the new braces again. This new doctor, Dr. Bosch, is much more loyal to the Ponseti method and he validated my concerns that the bar was way too short and that the feet were not fully corrected before we put on the FAB--I am so irritated that my son's former doctor referred for a P.A. visit the day we got the braces, the P.A. was not knowledgable at all regarding Ponseti method. If a Ponseti doc had seen him, maybe we could have avoided all of this pain and infection. Live and learn, I guess. Now I am going to be a total advocate for my son and not turn it all over to the doctors. I am so thankful for all of the good information I have found on this board, what a blessing it has been. _________________________________________________________________ Watch LIVE baseball games on your computer with MLB.TV, included with MSN Premium! http://join.msn.com/?page=features/mlb&pgmarket=en-us/go/onm00200439ave/direct/0\ 1/
Guest guest
How awful that you had to go thru this and how wonderful that you now have a doctor who will get it done right for your baby! It is so hard for us to know there are doctors out there like your first doc who are basically *pretending* to do the Ponseti Method and inevitably harming helpless children. It makes it so hard to trust a doctor! Good luck to you and Leo, and happy feet from here forward! Angel
