Guest guest
Hello Everyone... Well, I went to get Kris put into his first set of cast's on Friday. There was no way he was going to let him get those things on!!! He put up such a fight that all we got on him was a small boot area that went just past his ankles, and that was turned back out before it got hard by Kris! So, he ended up cutting the darn thing off!! all that took an hour or so... Now, the bad news is on Monday, Kris will be put under anesthesia in the OR of the hospital to get his casting done. This will have to be done for every cast! (3 or 4) This is really hard for me...but I know from giving him cold med. and anything that is normally suppose to make a child sleepy, he bounces off the walls. This Friday, the doctor was not sure we were going to be able to get the casts on or not, but wanted to try his hardest so we could avoid putting him under. Also, I am seeing his doctor in his private office for all this because we were his patience from the beginning before we switched to Shriners where he also does a lot of work...something told me I better do this through his office, that is located at the hospital because I don't know how Shriners works. He said they have the facilities to do the casting under anesthesia there, and when a child his age is in need of casting for any reason they always put them under. I don't know if I am being paranoid or not... Anyone have there non talking running 22 mo or older baby put into casting? I am SOOO, not looking forward to what he will be like when he finds out he is going to have these casts on that go all the way up to his thigh!!! And he can't run free!!! Kris is a very strong willed little guy too. help? Thank you, Carole mom to Kris born 6-11-02 Bilateral Clubfoot-treated w/Ponseti method from day 7, Same Dr. throughout. Going into his second set of casting due to turning of the forefoot, per request of Dr. Ponseti, after looking at pictures of his feet.
