Guest guest
Betsy, Having had surgery myself just a few weeks ago, I totally understand the pre-surgery stress. But you know what I kept telling myself, in an attempt to replace the old you-gotta-eat-now-cause-you're-stressed mind tape?? I said, Self, if you eat 'cause you're stressed, you're gonna be DOUBLY or TRIPLEY stressed afterwards because you'll see it on the dern scale! And Self, you've worked too hard to chuck it all now!!!! It's a mind game we play on ourselves, you know? I've learned and continue to learn to wait....think about it....and then if I'm still wanting to nosh on something because I just plain do -- well then, I have a Weight Watchers ice cream cone. Or a low-point peanut-butter & jelly sandwich. Or 15 of my favorite chocolate Trader Joe's cat cookies or a chocolate WW smoothie -- a 24-oz. glassful!! It really does give me the comfort I seek, but without the dreaded after-stress of eating the old, bad way. All the while, of course, I'm quoting Scripture to myself and hanging on for dear life to the Lord!!! Hang in there. And come here for encouragement when you need it! Hugs, Bette in CA <>< 278/187/
