Guest guest
Garrett is 14 weeks now and we are striving to keep on his DBB most of the day but we are not successful...often when he wakes at night I find him out on his right side...during the day his right comes out however less frequently than before. I am very concerned he will relapse... I understand after 2-3 months we will transition to nap and night wear only ...what determines when we decrease his time in the DBB and what do I look for in terms of relapse....He does not see his orthopedist till mid May....thanks for your input..Cindy
Guest guest
Hi Cindy, Please read previous posts, (Daiga's and & Claire's) on " Brace issues " and Angel's (kitaki) response to you. If any of this seems familiar maybe your son's right foot is not fully corrected. You can send photos to Dr. Ponseti and he will get back to you. You can also check into the shoes (previous posts) which sound great. Again, if the last cast was at the proper angle (70 degrees) and the brace and shoes fit properly and the shoes are done tight, the FAB should rarely if ever be able to be kicked or wiggled out of. Perhaps in atypical feet we can see this more, I'm not sure, but everything else remaining equal, it should not happen very often. good luck & let us know how it goes, -
