Do you take propecia orally on topically? I read a website a few weeks back

where the guy was saying cortisol supplementation with Propecia helped his

hair growth. Not sure if it did long term or if there were side effects.

Thank you VERY much Val, for your help, i really appreciate it.

Okay, so i'll follow that regimen and i'll get my Free T3 and T4 re-

tested in 1 month, and report back to you. I have some time release

DHEA 25mg already, so i'll order the Isocort asap.

If i notice anything weird or side effects wise i'll probabbly ask

about it, if you dont mind.

Lastly, do you think its okay for me to use Propecia, for hairloss?

I take this on and off and i dont know if its effecting my thyroid

or adrenals, it reduces DHT.

Thanks so much for your help Val!

I thought women could not take it orally? I assumed it was a man asking,

lol.

I am dealing with major hair loss myself but trying to get all this adrenal

thyroid stuff cleared up first. I tried Minoxidil on my scalp a few years

ago but the little it helped (which wasn't much) fell out when I stopped and

it was not worth the time and effort for such little wimpy hair growths.

I had a small spurt of growth in November in my lashes and brows which I

don't know if it was the DHEA or progesterone because I stopped both

(tapering) but am adding the progesterone back in first to see if I see some

growth. The lashes and scalp bug me the most.

Hi Cheri, i take it orally off and on, but when applying it

topically, it is said to have pretty large systematic absorption,

thats why pregnant woman arent supposed to touch broken Finesteride

tablets.

I just did a quick search and could not find that it affects thyroid or cortios

levels so I would just lok up any side effects listed adn see if oyu are having

any.

Okay Val, Thank you VERY much for helping me out, i really

appreciate it.

I ordered some Isocort and Ashwaganda, and will report back in

around 1 month when i get my Thyroid retested, and to report how i

feel,ect.

I guess i should order another Adrenal Stress Profile saliva kit

test, so when needed i can retest the adrenals aswell.

Thanks again Val!

I usually suggest starting with Armour first as usually it is not just

T3 that is low and oyu MUST have the adrena;s supported properly to

staryt ANY thyroid.

Thanks Val, so how would i go about supporting my adrenals if i want

to boost my T3 levels up a bit? I know fitness and bodybuilding people

use T3 Cytomel for a boost in fatloss, but there adrenals are

probabbly fine, as mine are not.

My T4 levels seem to be fine right? And as far as fatloss is concerned

T3 is all that matters correct?

If i supplemented with T3 would that make my T4 levels drop?

Im not going to do anything without your advice and confirmation

first, but regardless i think i would want my T3 levels a bit higher.

Thanks Val!

Hi Val, i just wanted to bump my last question incase you didnt see

it.

I woke up today with such an ugly puffy/bloated face im getting sick

of this already.

I really cant stand it i dont even look like myself anymore.

I have had this ugly puffy/bloated face since this whole thing

started in May/07, so thats like 9 months, so i hope i dont have

permanent damage.

Do you know why my face is puffy and bloated, especially the

absolute worst in the morning?

I really need to get rid of this asap.

Thanks for your help.

I am not Val but your puffy face esp. in morning is edema caused by your

hypothyroid. No permanent damage. I have had that for over 30 years! It has

only subsided this past month when I got my HC up high enough and during my

period comes back again.

If you are a woman make-up can disguise some of it. Not sure what to do if

you are a man, lol. Makeup helped me a lot over the years. In me, my nose

gets bigger too.

Which adrenal support you would bneed depoends on how bad your adrenals are can

you post saliv labs? Taking T3 does NOT lower T4. Too high a T4 level usually

indicates a conversion problem if it is accompanied by low T3. In that case you

should check RT3 and also look for high cortiosl.

Hey Val, i forgot to mention something about my saliva tests, i

didnt want to make my post too long and confusing, because ive done

this in the past and never got any good help.

I forgot to mention that when i took the Adrenal Saliva Test, that i

was on Propecia, Letrozole ( to lower Estrogen a bit ), and Cytomel

25-50mcg daily.

I was so sick of feeling like crap, tired, depressed, weight gain,

and a puffy/bloated face, and i was getting no help from anybody

after trying for 8 months, that i self medicated. Its really sad

that i had to resort to this. This was before i found your help.

I dont think Propecia and Letrozole would have any effect on DHEA-S

and Cortisol levels, though i dont know. I dont know if lowering

Estrogen alters Cortisol and DHEA-S levels.

What about the T3? Would that effect my test results or Cortisol

levels?

On these drugs, for the first 3 days i was peeing a lot, and i had a

lot of energy, and by the third day my face was back to normal and

it lost all the water my cheeks were holding, but on the fourth day

it came back just a bit a bit.

I felt wired on this, probabbly because of the T3, and i had a lot

of brain fog even though my energy was up. I felt like i was high or

something and disconnected from the world. it felt like i drank 20

cups of coffee, but i didnt get jittery like a stimulant really,

just felt really foggy.

So i slowly weaned myself off the T3 for 2 weeks, and ive been on NO

drugs at all for the past 2 weeks.

Finally i was recommended to you, so now im going to follow your

advice only, and wont self medicate.

Just wanted to know if the T3,ect, would effect my DHEA-S and

Cortisol, ect, and what to make of my tests.

Thanks.

OK I have slept since then, can you repost your cortiosl results? I do

nto believe any of those woudl affect the cortisol but the effects you

felt were most certainly from the T3. Including the fluid leaving as T3

when you first start on it can work as a diuretic. It si correcting the

fluid retention from being hypo so you will lose quite a bit of fluid at

first and this in itself can cause brain fog. Anyway, post your ocrtisol

labs for me again.

I still think you will need at the very least Isocort, but possibly HC.

Your high estrogen shoudl come down on it's own whrn you get enough

cortisl in your body to function right. DHEA at 25-50mg a day would also

be a good idea as you are young and need the extra for good function and

your is quite low.

Thanks Cheri, yep when i take DHEA im going to take a low dose of

Aromasin or Arimidex, very low dose, to keep estrogen at bay as i

Not really. It is always easier to break something than to fix it.

Especially if no one wants to tell you how to fix it and makes it hard to

get the tools yourself along with a do it yourself manual. :-) I'm pretty

sure mine have been going downhill for anywhere from 12-14 years.
