I did try your suggestion but being unfamiliar with the ribs I had a

hard time finding anything :-) Can find a tender spot front and back

but don't think they line up the way you said. Tried the rest anyway

but if anything it ended up sorer. All this, plus the fact that as I

sit here it just started pulsing (spasing), leads me to believe it

is soft tissue. (oh the soreness ended up expanding from that one

spot along a line to the spine - so now it's about a 4 " line from

the spine out but still sorest in the initial area away from the

spine). I would like to know if it is not a rib, with your anatomy

knowledge what do you think it is? With it running left to right,

being a thin short line, I am perplexed. If it was a rib I do

believe it is back in.

It still sounds like a rib popping in and out. Muscles spasms are

very typical from a rib sublux. Your description of the pain

running in a line outward from the spine is also a typical rib pain

pattern.

As far as locating the rib ends, remember that the space between

ribs will vary depending on how tall a person is. The taller they

are, the greater the space. Another thing to remember is that it is

very common to have more than one rib involved when they sublux.

Even if the ones above and below don't actually sublux or separate,

they are going to be stressed because of the one that is. When I do

rib work, I always work on at least 3-4 and not just the obvious one.

And believe me, I know what you are feeling right now. I made more

than a few " high pitched mouth noises " myself last night because I

had about three of mine decide to sublux on me during the night. At

the moment, mine have the added nicety of having hairline fractures

as well.
