I sure appreciate you letting me know some of the avenues I can take if they

keep refusing to cover the expense.

Why in the world would they cover manual and NOT electric ones? Unless it's just

the money--or to hope to discourage me.

It doesn't seem fair at all to cover one type and not another. Having a manual

one would make my condition much worse not better. My therapist felt the same.

It's taken me so long to even get to the point of psychologically accepting the

fact I do need one, and now this.

I doubt my rheumie is going to be of much help. He hasn't a clue as to how

severe my EDS is.

I've thought of going to my genetic doctor- I know he'd support me, and also

include how severe my EDS is.

As I can't see my rheumie being of much help.

He's the one that sent me to this therapist to begin with...I go, and he didn't

contact my therapist after wards. Two weeks after my evaluation, his nurse calls

me instead to tell me it's OK! The therapy clinic needs him to sign something

and they can't get him to do that either.

I have the feeling he thought the therapist would find there's nothing wrong

with me-instead he found lots of stuff the doctor had missed. He's the same doc

that 'pooh-poohed' my knee when I complained of pain. Then a couple months later

my PCP had it x-rayed, and found the cartilage was gone. I have no idea why the

rheumie has gotten like this. He used to be understanding, etc....until I began

to have all these problems so close together.

All my other docs seem to understand what alls going on but not him.....

That's why I doubt he'll be of much help at all in getting the wheelchair.

I just don't want to miss out on all the stuff I could be doing, instead of

sitting at home especially when the grandkids are hear and want to do something

that would be so much fun--except I can't walk that far. :( :(

I'll be using these ideas--something has to force them into paying. I think it's

outrageous what they're doing.
