Guest guest Posted July 13, 2006 Report Posted July 13, 2006 I'm new here, but need more info than I'm getting out of the docs and what I am reading online. Over the past few years I have started developing a horse voice as well as waking up at night choking on my spit (gross I know), not to mention how it feels like a lump in my throat or something caught there. After several blood tests that have come back positive, a manual exam showed my thyroid gland was enlarged. I DID ask for a T3 or T4 test, but was told it was unnecessary since they didn't really prove anything. We thought it may just be some of my arthritis meds, or reflux... something other than my thyroid. I did request an ultra sound which showed the right side enlarged from multiple cysts. Not life threatening and not requiring meds. So why do I have and HAVE had symptoms of a hypo thyroid for years when the blood tests are all normal.... How do I approach my docs without being more of a pain than I am. I have Lupus, Fibromyalgia, RA, reflux, etc.... so they see me frequently. Any ideas or comments as well as experience with cysts and how they are effecting my thyroid, what to expect... etc... Thank you all for being here... Pam Quote
