OT- thyroid test question

Does anyone know what the more thorough thyroid test is called? I have a

dr. appointment next week and plan on asking for an anti-depressant, and

thanks for all the helpful suggestions along those lines - I really

appreciate all your help. I've also been on synthroid for a long time and

am suspecting a more serious change in my thyroid activity. This goes

right along with the depression and weight changes that I've been

experiencing. I know the dr. usually does an annual thyroid test, a T4

maybe? I really don't remember. I'm sure I need a more thorough work up

but I don't know what to ask for, does anyone have any suggestions?

Robin
