Guest guest
I pulled this from a newsletter I get. (slightly modified) - In order to realize the best gift Christmas ever - the body of your dreams!!! -You need to realize a few things--first thing; it is too late to change much about your body before this Christmas and secondly; if you don't start working on next year's gift now, you will be unwrapping the same disappointment that you are realizing this year! So: how to? 1. You need a plan. 12 months is plenty of time to lose a great deal of weight. You have 12 months. I lost 130 pounds in 15 months, so I am confident when I say that you can lose roughly 2 pounds a week, 8 pounds a month or 96 pounds safely in the next twelve months! I know of no better plan for your nutritional needs than right here at Weight Watchers! You can choose the plan – Flex or Core - that works with your life and your taste buds! 2. Short-term goals. You need to set short-term goals and implement a reward plan when you realize them. For example, if you lose 2 pounds each week, you could earn a trip to the movies, or a long hot bath. If you exercise for 45 minutes, 3 times a week-- you could earn a manicure or a new book. The options are endless, but you need to make them realistic and things that you will work hard to realize. 3. You need to implement daily affirmations to cement positive thinking in your mind. It is important to cast aside the negative " diet " associated thinking of the past and realize that this time around IS different and it IS going to work for you; because YOU are going to work for you! 4. Support system. I urge you to get involved with some of the different support boards at www.weightwatchers.com offers. Each day new posts give a new motivational thought meant to give someone a new insight into the day's events and find healthier ways to respond than previously. You will make new friends on the boards and be part of a supportive and embracing community. 5. Visualize what your new life is going to be like and start living in that picture. It is silly to wait until the scale proclaims you ready to start living the life you dream of. Actually living it NOW will help you to realize it! 6. Read motivational materials. Filling your mind with motivation and inspiration is the fuel need for your dieting motor!-ok, that and food--but only healthy food for your fancy engine, ok! Get a good encouraging book: Awaken the Diet Within, From Overweight to Looking Great is a good look at what life can be like going from morbidly obese to healthy and happy. Others, Purpose Driven Life, Awaken the Giant Within, See You at the Top-- find one YOU will relate with and read it! 7. Get busy doing things other than dieting! There is nothing like helping others to free your mind from the trials and tribulations of dieting! Finding out that there are bigger problems in the world than grams and points gives one an entire new perspective on life and a much needed one at that! 8. No excuses! Take none and make none! There is really NO reason why you can't make ONE change in the direction of health. Some changes may be harder for some, due to physical restrictions--but, regardless of any condition, there remains ONE thing that we can do successfully that will have a positive impact on our health. Then, another thing--and so on until the problem is licked! 9. Get a big bow---because YOU are going to need it to wrap up the great looking package that is going to waiting to be unwrapped this time next year! ---YOU!!! -- ¸...¸ __/ /\____ ____ ,·´º o`·,/__/ _/\_ //____/\ ```)¨(´´´ | | | | | | | || |l±±±± | ¸,.-·²°´ ¸,.-·~·~·-.,¸ `°²·-. :º° The 's As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord! 24:
