Guest guest
Hi Shana, I also live in Queens(near JFK airport). If i may ask what company are you seeing? My son wore a Hanger helmet(farmingdale,LI) with not good results from the age of 5-10 mo's. After that he went into a Doc Band by Cranial Tech at 14mo with pretty good results but would have been much better if I had went with them from the get go. Your son is pretty young and I would be a bit concerned that he would only want to see you once a month since at that young of an age they should want to see you once a week or every other week at most. I strongly request getting a consult with Cranial Tech. They are in Paramus, NJ(closest one to us) Yes a bit of a trip but honestly in the 5 boro area they are the TOP PICK and EXPERTS IMO in the helmet biz. The window of time you have for utmost correction is now so I would say go with the pro's. (their website is www.cranialtech.com) and they do free consultations. There are quite a few mom's on this board from other states that have used Hanger helmets with great results but I know for a fact me and one other mom on this board had less then desirable results from using Hanger Orthotics in L.I. Please feel free to ask any other questions or you can feel free to email me off board too if you want (cathyl65@...) Best of luck 2 you - Mom to CJ- 22 mo old Doc Band Graduate 9/07 > > I met with an orthotist today who said my almost-5-mo. old should > get the Starband. He said that we would come in for once-per-month > check-ups/adjustments. Is that often enough?
