Suspected EDS cousin now diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome

Hi all,

A first cousin of mine who is slowly getting use to her EDS symptoms recently

had her disabled son diagnosed with Asperger syndrome. She says he tested at

genius level for some things and retarded level for other things. He also has

what I have ... insensitivity to pain, megacolon. He has severe anxiety.

Well, my early online reading shows that autism and Asperger runs in the

family. My brother has autism symptoms and always had this unique talent in art.

[As a child, he would ride his bike around the city and come home and draw a

detailed accurate city map from memory. His other thing was being to identify

his favorite cars make, year and model number. We always thought this was neat

when he could do it with Volkswagen beetles. Since he and I both had art skills

no one gave a " hoot. " My brother had EDS fingers so his writing was also

unusual. Not that we knew this decades ago.

Does anyone in the EDS groups have EDS and Asperger syndrome in their

immediate family. Especially with savant syndrome with unique skills or talent.
