I'm so sorry to hear of your sad loss...

With regards to Heparin I have HEDS and recently had seven weeks of Dalteparin

(a Drug similar to Heparin) Injections daily to prevent Thrombosis after a Knee

Replacement.

I injected into my Lower Abdomen and I got a small dark bruise each day and

after a few weeks my skin seemed to 'thicken'...I had to push the needle with

some force to pierce the skin but it was almost painless.

I finished the injections just before Christmas and still have some bruising.

I did find I bruised more and also bled more easily when I had blood draws but

it wasn't too much of a problem.
