Guest guest Posted November 5, 2002 Report Share Posted November 5, 2002 Poodles are great little dogs, very intelligent and amenable to training because they can understand easily. They are crossed here with labradors to make Labradoodles - this is true - as Guide dogs for blind people who are allergic to dog hair. Poodles don't shed, they just need trimming. I am not a dog person at all, I like cats, but we have a Maltese terror who is my baby. Technically Susie belongs to Katrina but Susie says she is mine. She is an indoor dog although she will take herself outside if the mood takes her. If she has a walk four days a week she is happy. She does bark if anyone is bold enought to walk past our house but she doesn't bark just for the fun of it. Malteses need clipping every so often or they end up looking like that horrible little mutt has or had. If you are living in a flat though there would not be much need for a dog to bark - with Susie, and with a lot of the little Terrier types, this is a territorial thing.
