Guest guest
Thank you so much for posting this . I had my abdominal myo 12/8, one huge fibroid (25 cm, yes, that's right, about 9 inches) was removed. I have not had urinary infections, but I have been concerned that it seems like I am now retaining some urine when I didn't have that problem before -- if I try to pee when my bladder isn't really full, I have to " bear down " some to completely empty; sometimes the same thing happens at the end of a pee. I've known since childbirth (26 yrs ago, many years pre-fibroid) that my bladder is somewhat prolapsed, ie dropped, but I never had problems other than frequency - - which was much worse when the fibroid got very large. Now I'm wondering if the prolapse got worse but the fibroid put so much pressure on the bladder that there wasn't " space " for any retained urine and so this problem is only now coming to light. Since I saw your post I will wait and watch a bit to see if there might be some neurological effects from the surgery that pass with time. I too would like very much to know if anyone has had a similar experience. Sunny > I too have not read much on the subject of urinary problems and fibroids/surgery here. I have a different situation that I thought I would share with you all, in case it may be useful for someone else. > > I had my abdominal myo on October 2. Since then, I've had a few urinary tract infections. I've also had pain/pressure when having to urinate and after emptying my bladder, even when I do not have an infection present. I finally got to see a urologist.
