Guest guest Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 Hi! I am just now on P2 and have been reading all your emails for the past few weeks. Thank you for being so helpful! I had a question....I use Stevia for sweetening tea. What is the general consensus on this? As far as my favorite menu, I just made the chocolate pb bars and they are yummy. This is my favorite so far, it's for P1 I believe: Noodle-less Lasagna - P1 1 lb. ground beef 1 c. low-carb spaghetti sauce 1 (4 oz.) can sliced mushrooms 1 c. ricotta cheese 1 egg, beaten 1 1/2 c. shredded mozzarella cheese 1/2 T. Italian Seasoning 20-25 slices pepperoni Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brown ground beef in pan, drain fat off. Add spaghetti sauce and mushrooms and simmer 10 minutes. In a small bowl, mix the ricotta, egg 1/4 c. mozzarella, and Italian seasoning. Beat well with fork. Grease 8x8-inch glass baking dish with non-stick cooking spray. Spread beef mixture in the bottom of the dish. Spread the ricotta mixture on top of the beef mixture. Lay half the pepperoni pieces on the ricotta mixture. Put the remaining shredded mozzarella cheese over the pepperoni slices, and lay the remaining pepperoni on top of the cheese. Bake until bubbly, about 20 minutes. Recipe Note: Makes 4 servings. 9 grams of carbohydrates per serving. To substitute the spaghetti sauce, use 15 oz. tomato sauce and season yourself. Splenda will make it a little sweeter. I make an 8x8 pan, divide into 4 servings and freeze in separate containers for an easy tasty microwavable lunch. TY in advance for all your responses. Quote
Guest guest Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 I am a Stevia user. I think it tastes much better than the artificial sweeteners. In the original SBD book it is mentioned as something to use. However, since it is not FDA approved as a food additive, South Beach since took it off their approved list. Now, keep in mind, Stevia IS FDA approved as a dietary supplement. Anyway, I've been using it regularly for 2-1/2 years now. Chuck ditzymudgirl wrote: >Hi!
