OK guys this is the last camp report from Dream Street. My kids came back

piled with stuff!!!!! We almost couldn't fit it back in our van. They got to

see Tony Hawk and got signed pictures, got gift bags from Diane Keaton and

Lockleir.SP? They met Minnie Driver and got stuff from her. Made tons

of

fun craft things, got signed pictures from a Hollywood stunt crew who came

and did a show for them. They had movie makeup done by some Movie special

effects make-up artists. Received several shirts as well as stuffed toys and

dolls

(Krisalynn) got Matrix glasses which he is thrilled about! Several

different movies, and the list goes on!!!! They played endless pranks on each

others cabins from the sounds of it including stealing the light bulbs out of

the boys cabin (Hotel Room) right before a dance apparently, which there were

four dances for the week with a totally cool DJ from what I am being told!

Stealing the clothes from the boys cabins and leaving notes for them to have to

follow to find them. Toilet papering the girls cabins. Although there were a few

visits to the infirmary, they were cool with it because apparently there were

treats at every visit as well as at each Med call. I don't know if I am

going to be able to bring them back into the real world now!

They absolutely loved Camp at Dream Street!!!!!!! They are so hook!!!!

Unfortunately on our way back not too long after leaving camp, had a

pretty

good seizure and we ended up in the ER there in Capistrano. Poor Baby, first

thing out of his mouth when he was feeling better was, This doesn't mean I

can't go back to camp next year Mom does it? I felt so bad!!! I reassured him

that it didn't. He just over did it at camp is all and needed some help to

get back up and running again. He even apparently Rock Climbed, I almost had a

heart attack, his counselor quickly added don't worry he was on a harness!

They all were so excited about the ride in the Snorkel basket on the Fire truck.

It sounds like Camp Dream Street is just that a kids total dream!!!! Camp

spoil street!

I am totally sold on the camp thing, something I would have never said in

the past. My Kira is a changed girl. Her face is bright and she is happy,

something I haven't seen for a long time. She has gone on and on about how she

has friends who totally understand her now. She is my 14 year old who has had

some severe issues with Depression. I am so grateful to these camps!!

Lissa how did n like camp? said he didn't run into him. I was

kind of bummed! He said that they were so busy that if they weren't in the

same cabin pod that it would have been hard to hook up. Did n see ?

Please let us know what n thought of camp!

It is hard for us moms that first time, but truly I totally enjoyed the

second experience much better. I knew they were having a good time and were

in very capable hands. Kira took on a little 4 year old that had flown in for

camp from North Carolina. I am thinking that was one brave Momma to have

allowed that one! I waited until Kira was 14, and I am truly sorry that it took

me that long to let her experience this. Krisalynn is 8 and although she

cried the first time, she did not cry the second time and has had the time of

her

life! Personally I think 8 is a good age if your child is mature enough by

then. Only you as the Mom can decide that, but let me encourage those who are on

the fence on the camp thing like I was. Its OK to jump off and let them have

the fun!! Run don't walk to get them signed up for next year!!!!!!

HUGS!

,

I am so glad that everyone had a great time at camp. Sorry that

you had to make a stop at the ER on the way home though. I have been to

Canyon Ranch through Dream Street and have found it very rewarding. I am

glad that all had a great time. I thank all these people that work the

camp, as they are all volunteers. Kira, and Krisalynn will keep

these memories forever.

Smiles,

WOW ! I wish I wasn't too old to go to the Kids' Camp!! LOL I am soooo

glad they had a good time. I hope they have some time to rest and recover. I am

sure they are worn out now, but I know it was worth it. Dream Street sure

does have some great programs going on. I know they get some of their funding

through celebreties and have a lot of connections.

I'm glad they enjoyed it so much! You should tell Dr Boles how great these

camps are so he refers more of his kids!

Hugs, Malisa
