Guest guest Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 , What you say is so very true...our big thing is that Gabby was language delayed in Russian, then adopted by us at 25 months & thrown into an ONLY English life! So learning to talk takes on a whole NEW meaning!!! We don't have a definate celiac diagnosis but going gf was suggested because of her not gaining ANY weight for the past 8 months! She was tiny to begin with...3.5 pounds at birth (32 weeks), 15.5 pounds at 25 months and now 19-20 pounds at 42 months (3.5 years). We obviously can't get any parental history but the gene screening showed 1 positive & 1 negative. In her biopsy, she was low in 2 of 3 enzymes. Our next meeting with the dietician is in 10 days...I'm going to ask about supplemental enzymes. I'm thrilled Gabby has come so far, but she is still MICROSCOPICALLY small...if her legs weren't so long, the 3-6 month pants/shorts fit her the best! I won't even go into what she wears for undies! She is SOOOOO much smaller than ANY other 3.5 year old in her classes, she is usually treated like a baby. That's the main reason I would like for Gabby to learn to actually talk well! Her hearing is fine, she just has trouble getting all the sounds in order! Thanks to everyone who's responded!! Nice to know you care & offer help!
