Guest guest
I was wondering if anyone else has this combo. MELAS runs in my family. It is up in the air whether I have it or not. I tested @ 0%, but that doesn't mean I don't have it...it's just not high in my blood. My symptoms include Bipolar and hormonally related migraines, which are both symptoms that run heavily in my family who have a definite dx of MELAS -- not to mention other bad manifestations (dilated cardiomyopathy, stroke-like episodes, hearing loss, grand mal seizures, low muscle mass, failure to thrive, etc). Also, we have both child onset and adult onset. BUT I'm curious if their is anyone out there with the hormone/migraine combo. Also, with both of my pregnancies, I did not dialate (had c-sects), and I had migraines every day at the same time after the each birth. Currently, I have 1-2 migraines per month usually around my time of the month. I experience aura (visual disturbances - I lose partial vision) before the actual headache. I also experience the after affects -- migraine hangover. Similar to what my brother experienced when he had seizures. Anyway, I was just wondering...
