Guest guest
I spent a couple of days at Mayo last summer and can agree that some of the most arrogant people I have ever met work there. It is a first class teaching set up but so are many other institutions...not every resident can be chosen by Mayo and quite possibly the cocky attitude and demeanor of the applicant is why they are chosen. The visit times are set up for the convenience of staffing, not the patient, afterall you came to Mayo for it's reputation and you can wait on them! The exact same tests done here were only repeated at Mayo not one single different thing and no new advice or wisdom...it was a long tiring trip for nothing! If they cannot immediately 'fix' your problem, it must not exist because you are at the Mayo Clinic! Debra
Guest guest
I don't want to say that the Mayo clinic is not good, as it is, but my experience wasn't. Granted, I was there 12 years ago. We were looking for a diagnosis at the time and since they didn't know right away what I had, it must have been " all in my head " . I do know that there is a good doctor up there right now who does know about mitochondrial disorders, but I heard that he may be leaving. a On Wed, 4 Aug 2004 08:54:42 -0600 " Debra Beckmann " beckmann@...> writes: I spent a couple of days at Mayo last summer and can agree that some of the most arrogant people I have ever met work there.
