does anyone freeze milk/doing this correctly

I sometimes will freeze milk but lately a couple gallons have leaked while

thawing. Should I perhaps buy smaller quantities like a half-gallon so it

won't expand so much and cause a crack in the container, or does anyone

recommend a different-type container in which to freeze it? Thanks.
