Guest guest
Terra I don't want to sound negative, because I mean this in a very positive way. YOu don't need a WW buddy. You don't even need an at work program. What you need is a personal dedication to healthy living, resources (like this mailing list, Weight Watchers online, and other websites), and a resolve that this is the way you live now. Period. I find that depending on someone else to support me is an exercise in futility. it isn't that they don't want to be supportive, but they have their own issues. IT's way too easy to say, " Oh, she's not doing it so I won't go... " and before you know it you've let someone else run your life for you. My husband and I have been on WWErs together since Feb 2002. He has never completely fallen off the wagon, but he does hop off from time to time and has never been very consistent with the program. There are many reasons for this, but the bottom line is he hasn't finished losing. That's okay. I'm not judging him. He's doing it his way, I did it (and am continuing to do it) my way. In the past when we'd " diet " together that always caused me to stop the program. Not this time. I realized that this is all about me. Yes, I appreciate his support. He is awesome that way and only eats off program when we go out, or on his own. But I don't depend on his actions to dictate my actions. I do it, regardless, because it's important to me. When it is as important to him then he will do it regardless. In the meantime he's still lost a great deal of weight (back to 80 pounds gone), is exercising daily, and feels amazing. So I say, here's what you do. You just do it. You simply do it because it's a healthy way to eat. No meeting? Join Weight Watchers online or do the at home program. No friend to go with? Share your successes and ask your questions here. Make it simply a part of who you are. Not Weight Watchers, per se, but make healthy eating and exercise a part of who you are. Redefine Terra as " A strong woman who is active and healthy and in control of her life. " You don't " need " someone else to get this accomplished. All you need is within you. Guest guest
You have posed a very thoughtful question. For me I just know that slow and steady is the best. I have friends that have done those fast weight losses and are miserable right now because they now have to go back and redo all the weight they have gained over the summer. I have a long way to go before goal and I get tired too, but I remind myself that it will all be worth it. I hope you find an answer real soon.
