Guest guest
I plan on cooking all weekend to stock my freezer with CORE foods so I will have something to eat after my knee surgery on the 19th. My hubby cooks a little but he's not familiar with CORE cooking yet. I always try to be a few steps ahead of the game. Walsh wrote: > > What does everyone do on the weekends? Guest guest
We are going to the casinos in BlackHawk this afternoon. It's a lovely day for a drive in the mountains of Colorado. Tomorrow we are going to Pugs in the Park. It's a fund raiser for Pug rescue and everyone brings their Pugs and have lots of fun. They have eating contests for the dogs and costume contests, etc. > > What does everyone do on the weekends? What are you hobbies and > loves? Do you mow the grass? Spend time with kids? Guest guest
Thats interesting - I too got pretty wrapped up into yesterday myself! It really pumped me up. I loved it and looked with envy at all the people competing. In my first WW last week they talked about a goal or something to aspire for and I think that is going to be mine. My father died of Leukemia and I understand they have a " Team In Training " program. They have a big marathon in April of 2005 and I would like to be able to complete it. (Walking of course- but perhaps one day... Beth " G. " wrote: That's awesome! I did it for the first time in May and it was a great experience. It's actually why I started running, because I wanted to run the 5K. I had never ran more than a mile, so it was tough, but now I'm addicted. =) I can't wait til next year's Race for the Cure. Re: Plans for the weekend? I did something at of the ordinary this weekend; I got up at 5:00am to walk in the Breast Cancer " Race for the Cure " and I am really proud of myself. (This is NOT my typical weekend! lOL) I walked the 3 mile walk and although it was hard at the end, I did pretty good. I really consider it a new goal- I was very impressed with the people who ran it and would love to try and run it next year less a few pounds. Beth Walsh wrote: What does everyone do on the weekends? Since it's half way over, I thought I'd tell my weekend story. I spent yesterday at the beach - Half Moon Bay - for a model airplane do that DH attended. Three of us walked to town for a fancy ( core) coffee and window shopped for about three hours. I figure we did about four miles and I only spent a $1.50 for the coffee. It was a brilliant day and way fun to spend it with two wonderful friends. The result was a pound down today. Good for me. Sue in Palo Alto, CA ( the San Francisco Bay Area ) below goal and loving it.
Guest guest
That marathon is a perfect goal! I'm signing up for a Half Marathon in December, so I " might " be ready for a full one by April. If not, I can't wait to hear your stories from it. =) Re: Plans for the weekend? Guest guest
If you are just starting out running I have a great program to get you well on your way. It is a 10 week (walk/jog) program and by the end of the 10 weeks you can jog/run a 5 k. Here is the 5k training: http://www.geocities.com/enducircuit/newrunner.html " G. Guest guest
Thanks! I'm already up to running 7.5+ miles 3x's a week. =) I did the Couch to 5K program to get me ready for Race for the Cure and it worked great! I just ran a 10K 2 weekends ago and I did it with a time of 58:33. It was a blast! Re: Plans for the weekend?
