Guest guest
Deb! *kick* Stop with the negative self talk! Okay, you didn't lose. But what did you do that was positive today? 1. You went to WI even though you were afraid you wouldn't lose. A true " loser " would skip it and go out to eat. 2. You stuck with the program, even though you didn't lose. A true " loser " would quit. 3. You committed to exercise every week. A true " loser " would wallow in self pity and forgo exercise. So you're making positive strides and you need to recognize that and be proud of it. So you didn't lose this week. So what?! Did you become " less " of a person because of it? Are you less valuable? Less wonderful? No! Of course not! You have hundreds of weeks ahead of you where you'll lose weight, lose inches, and gain confidence as you move forward. > WI > > > Well, I had my WI and didn't lose one iota. Guest guest
Deb, Unfortunately, sometimes it takes us feeling fat and disgusting to really motivate us to go out and make a permanent change. I know that was my initial motivator. After a while, our self-analysis might become a little nicer. =) I'm so glad you joined Curves. I love it and I hope you do too. WI Well, I had my WI and didn't lose one iota. I did join Curves this afternoon and made a commitment to go three times a week. I hope it will help. I feel so fat and disgusting, Deb
Guest guest
(SNIP) > Am I the onlty guy on this list? I > know that I see Mitch posting here occasionally but that seems to be it. > I wonder why so few men participate? > Hi , I'm mainly a lurker on this list but I have been attending weekly meetings for over a year. While attendance goes up and down, there is a core of about 5 or 6 men that attend the same meeting. I think overall attendance is up because of the free registration and the new program. I read this list from the web site and I just don't have time to get involved with long discussions. I do get alot of good advice and support from this group. So ladies, be aware that there are men who are reading what you post but there is not much we can say when the discussion centers around TOM.
