The docs say Me Las. Accent on second syllable. I have heard OTs and PTs

say it the same way.

MELAS question

This is a trivial question, but I wondered how one pronounces MELAS?

Is it MELAS as in me? Or MELAS as in melancholy? I have been saying

the latter, but my new neurologist used the former.

How do the mito experts say it?

Tks.
